When the Kansas City Chiefs drafted Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, they were hoping they'd found their running back of the future. Instead, CEH hasn't lived up to the hype during his first three seasons and is widely regarded as a bust.

Thankfully for the Chiefs, they may not be stuck with him for much longer, as several teams are reportedly interested in trading for him this offseason.

Chiefs Trade Rumors

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported on Sunday that multiple teams could be looking to trade for CEH this offseason. Fowler also reported that while the Chiefs aren't actively shopping him at the moment, they're willing to listen to offers for the 23-year-old.

Edwards-Helaire could likely use a change of scenery after seeing his role in KC diminish over the past three seasons. He only drew six starts last season as he was effectively replaced by rookie Isiah Pacheco and did not play at all during the Chiefs' championship run in the postseason.

Even so, running back is a punishing position and you can never have enough depth there, so perhaps Kansas City would like to keep CEH around as an insurance option in case Pacheco gets hurt. Still, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Chiefs move on from Edwards-Helaire this offseason, especially if they get a decent trade offer for him.
