Bills Being Disrespected by Week 16 Odds Against Patriots

The Buffalo Bills will aim for revenge against the New England Patriots when the two AFC East teams meet head-to-head in Week 16 of the NFL season. The Bills will also have some extra motivation from the oddsmakers in this one as they are slated as underdogs for just the third time all year.

The Patriots are currently favored by 2.5 points on their home turf, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Of course, it's hard to forget that the Patriots defeated the Bills by a score of 14-10 just three weeks ago. However, that game was hardly indicative of how different these two teams truly are.

Buffalo's offense outranks that of New England's in almost every way. In fact, quarterback Josh Allen leads an offense that has posted the fifth-most points (28.1) and eighth-most yards (377.9) per game. Meanwhile, the Patriots find themselves out side the top 10 in both of those categories.

On the defensive side of the ball, these two squads are very similar. The Bills and Patriots rank one and two in total DVOA rating and both teams are allowing under 18.0 points per game. Keep in mind that Buffalo is led by a pair of dynamic playmakers in Jordan Poyer and Tremaine Edmunds, though.

All things considered, this game could easily go either way and should be much closer to a pick 'em regarding the spread. Buffalo brings a higher-octane offense to the field and matches up perfectly with head coach Bill Belichick's opportunistic defense. This has the potential to be a nail-biter.
