Bills Add Notable Running Back With Latest Signing

As NFL free agency rolls on, the Buffalo Bills continue making offseason moves in hopes of finally winning a Super Bowl. The backfield is the latest area they're upgrading as ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Bills have signed former New England Patriots running back to a one-year deal.
Former Patriots’ RB Damien Harris reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills, per source.

Buffalo Bills News
With former RB Devin Singletary leaving in free agency, signing a reliable veteran like Harris is something the Bills needed to do. While they still have James Cook and Nyheim Hines on the roster, Cook has yet to start an NFL game while Hines is more suited for passing downs and special teams situations.
A combination of injuries and splitting touches with Rhamondre Stevenson led to an unproductive 2022 campaign for Harris. The former Alabama product finished with just 106 carries for 462 rushing yards and three touchdowns in 11 games.
For comparison, Harris put up a career-best 202-929-15 stat line over 15 games just one season before that.
Harris has already shown that he thrives playing at Highmark Stadium. In three career trips to Orchard Park, NY, the 26-year-old has rushed for over 100 yards with a touchdown twice. It's a small sample size, but playing in a lethal Buffalo offense gives him a shot to build on it.
At the end of the day, bringing in Harris will help cut down on quarterback Josh Allen's carries. The mobile QB accounted for 28.8% of his team's carries last season. Bringing in Harris takes some pressure off Allen's shoulders while limiting the latter's chances of being injured.
If Harris lives up to his potential, he could be a crucial player in the Bills' potential Super Bowl run next season.
