It hasn't been pretty for the Cincinnati Bengals in recent years although this team has hope heading into next season. Bengals fans held their breath with the devastating injury to franchise quarterback Joe Burrow but he's expected to return in full health next year. Unfortunately, the Bengals may get screwed by the NFL schedule in 2021.

According to ESPN's Mike Clay, the Bengals own one of the fifth-most difficult schedule in the entire league for 2021. While the order of games has not been set, based on the current construction of the league's yearly schedule, the opponents Cincinnati will face are already known.

Bengals Schedule 2021

Clay used known opponents and the current construction of league rosters to come up with his strength of schedule projection. The Bengals are faced with the tall order of divisional opponents from both the AFC West and NFC North. In fact, Cincinnati's schedule features nine opponents from the 2021 NFL playoff field.

The Bengals are still rebuilding but this team loved what it saw from Burrow in 10 games last season. The former LSU star threw for 13 touchdowns and just five interceptions while completing better than 65 percent of his throws.

Cincinnati also added Burrow's former teammate Ja'Marr Chase with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Bengals loaded up with four defensive standouts in the draft as well.

As it stands, FanDuel Sportsbook is giving the Bengals +2300 odds to win the loaded AFC North. This team can make some noise if they improve on their record with one of the league's toughest schedules in 2021.
