This Aaron Jones Contract Projection Is Insane

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones is one of this offseason's premier free agents, and he's sure to cash in after emerging as one of the league's best at his position. If the Packers want him back, it's going to cost them, as other teams have cap space and a need at RB.
With the expected competition over Jones, he could see an insane amount of money this offseason, according to one projection.

The Athletic thinks Jones' new contract could reach $15 million per year, making him one of the highest-paid running backs in the league. In fact, that would place him third among RBs, only behind Christian McCaffrey ($23.3 million) and Ezekiel Elliott ($19.8 million).
For the cash-strapped Packers, they'll need to decide if paying Jones is worth it. Jamaal Williams is also headed for free agency, although second-round pick A.J. Dillon showed promise in 2020. Green Bay could pass on Jones' expensive price, re-sign Williams on a more team-friendly deal and save money for a run at someone like J.J. Watt to fill out this contender ahead of 2021.
Running back contracts are a hot topic in the NFL right now. And whatever Jones earns this offseason is sure to add to that conversation.
