Elijah Moore Injury Update is Concerning for Jets

A second-round selection at the 2021 NFL Draft, New York Jets rookie wideout Elijah Moore has been tearing it up at training camp as of late, leading to many believing that he could be a real threat this year.
Unfortunately, his momentum came to a crashing halt on Thursday as a trainer helped him leave practice after suffering a quadriceps injury.
This injury update is concerning because New York is now awaiting MRI to learn the extent of Moore's injury, according to Jets head coach Robert Saleh. The team should know the results sometime on Thursday, however, Moore's status for New York's preseason game against the Giants on Saturday is up in the air.

Elijah Moore Injury Update
Moore was selected 34th overall by the Jets earlier this year, which shows that he was a borderline Round 1-quality prospect.
After a decent 2019 collegiate season, Moore broke out with the Ole Miss Rebels last year. Despite playing a career-low eight games due to a pandemic-shortened season, the 21-year-old wideout finished with career highs in receptions (86), receiving yards (1,193) and touchdowns (14). His efforts led to him being named first-team All-SEC and consensus All-American for the first time.
Even though he hasn't played an NFL game yet, Moore's presence will be missed if he does have to sit out of any regular season games. Aside from him, Corey Davis — who signed a three-year deal with the Jets in March — has the highest upside of all New York wideouts. Everyone else in the Jets' receiving group is either unproven or average at best, so offense may be hard to come by depending on how long Moore is out for.
The Jets will enter Saturday's preseason matchup against the Giants as the -135 favorites, according to Fan Duel Sportsbook. Meanwhile, the Giants' odds of winning sit at +115.
