Big South Tournament Prediction

When it comes to the Big South Tournament odds, Longwood and Winthrop sit head-and-shoulders above the rest. The Lancers are favored at +145 odds, while the Eagles aren't too far behind at +210.

Both teams boasted solid offenses this season, with Longwood averaging 73.0 PPG (No. 106), while Winthrop averaged 74.4 PPG (No. 67). However, both teams are on opposite ends of the spectrum on defense. While the Eagles have given up 72.3 PPG (No. 244), the Lancers have one of the better defensive units after allowing 66.8 PPG (No. 94).

Another thing that works in Longwood's favor is that the Lancers defeated the Eagles, 92-88, at the end of January.

Despite the two teams being fairly equal, Longwood is shaping up to be the better pick to win the Big South Tournament. With a 15-1 record against the conference, the Lancers have demonstrated all season why they're the team to beat in the Big South.
