National Tight Ends Day Picks: 4 Best TE Player Props for NFL Week 7

This Week’s Best TE Bets in Summary

  • George Kittle Anytime Touchdown (+120)
  • Trey McBride Over 7.5 Receptions (+116)
  • Tucker Kraft Over 49.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
  • Brock Bowers Over 70.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

National Tight Ends Day is almost here, making NFL Week 7 a good time to dig into some TE props.

Tight end production can be volatile from week to week, but metrics such as target share, targets per route run and yards per route run can help us identify players whose underlying usage is stronger than the box score might suggest.

Using the latest NFL player prop odds at FanDuel Sportsbook, here are four tight end bets that stand out for Week 7.

All NFL odds come from FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL betting odds and may change after this article is published. These bets may be pulled from our other NFL betting content.

NFL National TE Day Picks, Prop Bets

George Kittle Anytime Touchdown (+120)

San Francisco 49ers at Atlanta Falcons — 1:00 p.m. ET

Any Time Touchdown Scorer

George Kittle has been one of the NFL's most dangerous scoring threats at tight end this season, making him a natural player to target on National Tight Ends Day.

Kittle has scored five receiving touchdowns through six games while commanding a 21.7% target share. He has been especially involved near the goal line, drawing 10 red-zone targets and turning four of those opportunities into touchdowns. His efficiency has also remained excellent as Kittle is averaging 2.44 yards per route run, which ranks among the best marks at the position.

His role has expanded significantly after a limited start to the year. Kittle has run a route on roughly 80% or more of San Francisco's dropbacks in each of the past four games, and he saw eight targets last week against Washington, including four in the red zone. He converted that usage into five catches for 69 yards and a touchdown.

The 49ers travel to face the Falcons this week, and Kittle's combination of route participation, red-zone involvement and scoring history gives him multiple paths to another touchdown. At +120 on FanDuel Sportsbook, his anytime touchdown prop is one of my favorite tight end bets of the week.

Trey McBride Over 7.5 Receptions (+116)

Denver Broncos at Arizona Cardinals — 4:05 p.m. ET

Trey McBride - Total Receptions

Trey McBride Over
Oct 25 8:06pm UTCMore odds in Sportsbook

Trey McBride has been one of the most heavily utilized pass catchers in football, regardless of position.

McBride owns a 28.5% target share for the Arizona Cardinals, along with a 29% target rate per route run. He is averaging 36 routes, 10.8 targets and 8.2 receptions per game through six contests.

McBride has caught at least eight passes in four of six games this season, logging reception totals of 9, 8, 9, 7, 9 and 7. That gives us a fairly straightforward path to the over: another double-digit target outing should put eight catches firmly in play.

These plus-money odds are attractive for a player who ranks first among tight ends in targets per game and has commanded nearly three out of every 10 Arizona targets.

Tucker Kraft Over 49.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions — 4:25 p.m. ET

Tucker Kraft - Receiving Yds

Tucker Kraft Over
Oct 25 8:26pm UTCMore odds in Sportsbook

Tucker Kraft hasn't produced monster receiving numbers every week, but his matchup with the Detroit Lions is difficult to ignore.

Kraft has drawn a 16.7% target share this season and owns a 21% target-per-route rate. His 1.41 yards per route run isn't an elite figure, but his underlying involvement has improved recently, with at least five receptions in three straight games and seven-plus targets in three of his past four.

Detroit has been by far the NFL's most favorable matchup for tight ends. Opposing tight ends have amassed 545 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in only five games against the Lions, equating to 109.0 receiving yards per game. No other defense has surrendered more receiving yards or touchdowns to the position.

That weakness also meshes well with the Green Bay Packers‘ pass-heavy style. The Packers have thrown at one of the league's higher rates, and this game carries one of Week 7's biggest totals (52.5).

Brock Bowers Over 70.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Los Angeles Rams at Las Vegas Raiders — 4:25 p.m. ET

Brock Bowers - Receiving Yds

Brock Bowers Over
Oct 25 8:26pm UTCMore odds in Sportsbook

Brock Bowers continues to operate more like a No. 1 wide receiver than a traditional tight end for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Bowers owns a 28.1% target share this season while averaging 2.45 yards per route run, an elite combination of volume and efficiency at the position. He's turned 43 targets into 382 receiving yards, good for 95.5 yards per game across his four appearances.

He has also posted at least 70 receiving yards in each of his last four games, including outings of 116, 86 and 110 yards before finishing with exactly 70 last week. His single-game target shares over those four games were 43.3%, 22.9%, 27.8% and 23.1%, giving him an extremely stable role even when Las Vegas' passing game hasn't been especially efficient.

The matchup isn't ideal as the Los Angeles Rams have limited tight ends to 29.6 receiving yards per game, but Bowers' usage is far beyond that of a typical tight end.

I'm willing to trust the combination of a near-30% target share and elite per-route efficiency.
