Though we've seen plenty of fireworks this NBA offseason, perhaps there's still one big piece to be moved in the near future. Bradley Beal is coming off a sensational year for the Wizards. But, who paid attention to the Wizards?
It's been speculated the young superstar isn't happy in Washington D.C. and would love a move to a contending team, or at least one with a brighter future. With that said, here's a look at three organizations who could end up making a move to land the sharpshooter.
3. Oklahoma City Thunder
With Russell Westbrook now in Houston, the Thunder are now in need of a bonafide No. 1 scoring option. Chris Paul is a great, yes, but he can't be expected to carry the load and we also don't know if he'll even be a member of the Thunder by the time the season begins. Beal averaged 25.6 points, 5.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds last season. We're not saying he'd go in and fully replace Brodie, but he'd sure help fans forget about losing him.
2. Miami Heat
The Miami Heat have been linked to both Beal and Kevin Love this summer. While the idea of landing Love seems fun for Miami fans, the NBA Finals champion could prove to be too costly for what he brings to the table at this stage of his career. With Beal, though, a report surfaced earlier this week stating he doesn't want to spend his entire career in D.C. Imagine Beal paired up with Jimmy Butler in Miami? They have the moving pieces and young assets to make this kind of a blockbuster deal work.
1. Portland Trail Blazers
We're seeing a bunch of powerful 1-2 combos forming in the Western Conference. Why not add another to the mix? While the Blazers arguably already have one in house with Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, Beal would be an upgrade over McCollum and if they were able to keep all three in a deal, it would only strengthen Portland's title chances. Like Miami, Portland has the players and picks to strike this kind of a trade. If the Trail Blazers want to take things to the next level and compete for a trip to the NBA Finals, getting this deal done could certainly help those efforts.
