Fantasy football is all about making the right calls before the games begin, and sometimes that means going against the grain.

Each week, there are players poised to outperform expectations, surprise us with their production, or fall short of what fantasy managers are expecting. While these predictions are certainly bold, they’re not pulled out of thin air. Matchups, usage, game environment and recent trends can all point toward an outcome that the consensus may be overlooking.

With that in mind, here are three bold fantasy football predictions to keep an eye on this week.

NFL Bold Predictions: Week 2

Caleb Williams Finishes Outside the Top 12 QBs

Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears‘ offense looked unstoppable in Week 1. I think they’ll come back to earth this week at home against the Minnesota Vikings.

Vikings DC Brian Flores is a madman, and he’s proven to be a difficult matchup for Williams (and a lot of QBs). In 2025, Williams threw for 210 yards and 193 yards in two meetings with Minnesota while taking four sacks and recording only one passing TD.

He ran for 84 yards over the two games, which kept him from posting total duds in fantasy, but I don’t feel great about him this week.

In a one-QB league, I’d be very open to moving Caleb to the bench this week and seeing if I could grab someone like C.J. Stroud (vs. CIN) off waivers to fill in. I may end up looking foolish, but I’m not high on Williams in Week 2.

Christian McCaffrey Will Score Three TDs

The San Francisco 49ers were super impressive in Week 1, beating the Los Angeles Rams — the Super Bowl favorites — comfortably down in Australia. They can keep rolling this week at home versus the Miami Dolphins.

In Week 1, Miami was mostly what we thought they’d be. They struggled mightily on defense, giving up 27 points and 21 first downs. Ashton Jeanty ran wild, racking up 102 rushing yards and 45 receiving yards while scoring twice (both through the air).

I think CMC will go nuts on a day when San Fran will likely light up the scoreboard. He’s my RB1 for Week 2.

George Pickens Will Finish as a Top-3 WR

After an underwhelming Week 1 showing in a Sunday night loss, the Dallas Cowboys‘ offense can bounce back in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders.

A year ago, Washington gave up the fourth-most yards per play (6.0). They allowed exactly that in Week 1, permitting 6.0 yards per play at the Philadelphia Eagles, and I see this being an explosion spot for Dallas’ high-powered passing game.

Pickens produced a quiet three-catch, 28-yard day in Week 1. But he led the Cowboys’ WRs in snap rate (84%), and we know he has as much big-play juice as any wideout in football.

In a nice matchup and with it looking like Dallas’ defense is going to struggle once again, the Cowboys’ offense should need to keep their foot on the gas, and I think Pickens blows up in Week 2.
