There is only one NHL game on the schedule for tonight, but that doesn't mean we can't get in some daily fantasy action. Let's break down how to attack the single-game fantasy contests on FanDuel tonight.

Friday’s single-game slate is focused on a clash between the Carolina Hurricanes and Arizona Coyotes. The Hurricanes are a -210 favorite with the total set at 6.5 goals, according to the NHL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Using our projections -- which are powered by numberFire -- as a guide, let's break down this single-game slate.

NHL DFS Picks

Top Captain Picks

With the Hurricanes entering this one as significant favorites -- -210 on the moneyline -- Sebastian Aho ($15,500) is an excellent starting point.

Aho has the highest point projection on the slate by a 3.2-point margin over his teammate, Andrei Svechnikov ($14,000). Aho is also a top-10 point-per-dollar option, per the projections. He leads the Hurricanes in goals (19) and assists (38) and has the best any time goal scorer odds on the slate (+140).

Svechnikov is also a top option. He ranks third on Carolina in points per game played (.97) and has 11 goals and 19 assists in 31 games played so far this campaign. His any time goal scorer odds are second-best on the slate (+190).

For Arizona, Clayton Keller ($14,500) is a solid option for the captain spot. He has numberFire’s fourth-highest projection and leads the Coyotes in goals (21), assists (28), shots (154), and points per game (0.94). His any time goal scorer odds sit at +200.

Seth Jarvis ($13,500) is another viable captain for Carolina. His point projection (15.0) ranks third on tonight’s slate, and he has a goal or an assist in seven of his last eight games. His any time goal scorer odds (+260) are tied for fifth.

For the Coyotes, Nick Schmaltz ($9,500) is worth consideration. He has numberFire’s eighth-highest point projection -- second-highest on Arizona. He ranks third on the Coyotes in points per game (0.63) and has 14 goals and 17 assists this season.

Flex Breakdown

A trio of Hurricanes top the slate in terms of point-per-dollar value, per numberFire -- Stefan Noesen ($7,500), Michael Bunting ($9,000), and Teuvo Teravainen ($9,500) are all excellent options to round out your lineup. Teravainen had a four-assist game on February 8th but has been quiet since then.

Jordan Martinook ($7,000) had two assists against Dallas on Tuesday and is expected to operate on Carolina’s third line.

For defensemen, Sean Durzi ($12,500) has the highest point projection on the Coyotes. Among Arizona’s defensemen, he ranks first in points per game (0.61), goals (8), and assists (20).

For the Hurricanes, Brent Burns ($14,000) has the highest point projection while Dmitry Orlov ($6,000) is the top point-per-dollar value. Burns leads Carolina’s defensemen in points per game (0.58), goals (8), and assists (22) -- slightly ahead of Brady Skjei ($10,000) in all three categories.

Other skaters who rank inside the top-10 on any time goal scorer odds include Martin Necas ($12,000, +200), Jordan Staal ($7,000, +300), and Lawson Crouse ($11,500, +310).
