The MLB All-Star Game has become a one-sided affair over the last 10 years as the American League has won nine straight. In the last 10 games, the American League leads the National League in aggregate score by a total of 40-30, so there have been several close games despite the AL's dominance.

The American League leads the Midsummer Classic all-time with a 47-43-2 record. There hasn't been a tie since 2002 -- when the teams ended the game tied at 7-7 after 11 innings.

Out of the last five games, three have been one-run affairs, including last season, which ended 3-2 in favor of the American League. This year is the first time since 2001 that the Midsummer Classic is being held in Seattle. The American League won 4-1 in that one.
