2025 Super Bowl Odds: 49ers Set as Early Favorites for Next Season's Title

Before the dust even settles on the current NFL season, let's look forward to a year from now for the 2025 Super Bowl.

While the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs prepare to play for the 2024 crown in Las Vegas in less than two weeks, we're already looking ahead. Trying to gauge who is going to be the contenders can be difficult with so much to be decided through free agency and the NFL Draft. For now, we can go off the odds.

So, with that, let's dive into FanDuel Sportsbook's 2025 Super Bowl odds.

San Francisco 49ers (+450)

The San Francisco 49ers are in this year's Super Bowl but are the favorites for next year, as well.

It's hard to argue with what they're already expected to bring back next season. The continued development of Brock Purdy will be the most important part of the 49ers getting to another Super Bowl. With Purdy locked in with the offensive core of Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle all set to return, this is an offense that should have just as much firepower next season.

Defensively, the 49ers will still be able to count on Nick Bosa and Javon Hargrave next year. That creates a great core for a defense that has been one of the finest in football the last few seasons. If they can win Super Bowl LVIII, it's hard to argue against them running it back.

San Francisco arguably has the most talented team in football and that should (mostly) carry over into next year, setting them up for success. It also helps that there are no immediate threats in the NFC that can definitively match their success heading into the 2024-25 season.

Baltimore Ravens (+700)

What a season it was for the Baltimore Ravens despite the way it ended. There's good reason to believe they will be contenders once again.

Lamar Jackson is going to enter next season as the reigning MVP -- a two-time one at that. Unfortunately for him and the Ravens, that playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs is going to be one that sticks with them for a while. But, it's all about getting back and fighting back. Knowing the Ravens and how competitive they are year after year, it makes all the sense for them to be the second-best squad in Super Bowl odds.

A Jackson-led offense is familiar to most, but an improved offensive line could take them to another level if the AFC Championship was any indication. It'll be the defense being great again that will come into question. Patrick Queen will be the big free agency question for the Ravens; the linebacker was a big reason why their defense was the best in the league. With him, they should again have one of the top-three defenses in football. Without him, they should still be good, but we'd have to wait and see.

No matter what happens, the Ravens should be back near the top of the AFC again and contending for a Super Bowl.

Kansas City Chiefs (+850)

It's the Kansas City Chiefs. At this point, how can anyone doubt them getting to or winning the Super Bowl?

For the fourth time in five seasons, the Chiefs will be playing in the Super Bowl while going for their third to solidify a dynasty. Does that make them being just third for next season feel...wrong? Somewhat, but based on their regular-season performance from this season, it can be fair to suggest.

The fact of the matter is that if Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid are leading the way for them, they're going to have a shot. The defense has been the part of their team that stepped up in 2023-24, which has allowed the offense to coast despite struggles throughout the year. After what they saw in their offense this year, it's hard to imagine the Chiefs will just stand by and accept what their offense is. Moves will be made , nd there's a good chance they're a lot better on offense next year.

The big question marks come with Travis Kelce and Chris Jones. Kelce, 34, has some rumors following him that this season could very well be his last, retiring along with his brother Jason Kelce -- who is also expected to retire. Based on his speech at the AFC Championship trophy ceremony, it sure seems like he won't be going anywhere, but it's possible.

Jones, on the other hand, will be looking for a brand new, high-priced contract that could lead to his exit from Kansas City. If that were to occur, the defense would take a massive hit and would leave a lot more questions than answers heading into the new year for the Chiefs. They were 0-1 without him this season.

Nonetheless, whether there are changes or not, the Chiefs still deserve respect until they are slowed down by anyone in the AFC.

Buffalo Bills (+1200)

As long as Josh Allen is quarterbacking the Buffalo Bills, it's likely they should have top odds each season.

The dynamic quarterback has come so close to reaching the Super Bowl but continues to fall short -- mostly at the hands of the Chiefs. Considering the injuries the Bills dealt with this season on both sides of the ball, there's a fair reason to believe they can contend next year if healthier. It's just not going to be easy by any stretch with the contract of Allen now kicking in and cap issues abound.

There's a good reason they sit at +1200 odds, and it's because of the uncertainty that follows them in 2024. If you're looking to take a shot this early, it may be best to wait on Buffalo.

Cincinnati Bengals (+1500)

No team in the top five of odds faces bigger question marks heading into next season than the Cincinnati Bengals.

The biggest, of course, will come with Joe Burrow and how he heals from his season-ending wrist injury that left the Bengals leaning on Jake Browning for the second half of the year. Cincinnati's success will completely depend on how Burrow looks and if he can actually enter the season healthy, something that hasn't been a normal ask for the star quarterback in his career.

Other questions will come through free agency. Tee Higgins is likely to be the top wide receiver on the market and very well could be on his way out. There are too many questions about the offense that represents their identity -- let alone their defense that was subpar for much of the season. numberFire's schedule-adjusted metrics ranked them 25th overall in the NFL.

Cincy's standing here is due to two AFC Championship appearances in two completed Burrow seasons. However, until we have a better idea of what they'll look like, it might be best to steer away from the Bengals.
