2024 Senior Bowl: Betting Odds, Game Preview, and Key Players to Watch

With the 2023 college football season several weeks behind us, we are officially in NFL Draft season. College football's annual Senior Bowl is a key event for veterans to show off their skills as they hope to hear their dreams come true on NFL Draft night.

The Senior Bowl typically features several first-round prospects every year. For example, the 2023 game featured three first-round picks in Darnell Wright of the Chicago Bears, Will McDonald IV of the New York Jets, and Dalton Kincaid of the Buffalo Bills. This year's field of senior prospects is even more promising with as many as eight potential first-round picks.

A new rule for the 2024 Senior Bowl adds even more intrigue. This will be the first year where juniors who met graduation requirements can participate in the game, and even more interesting, any player can now play in the Senior Bowl regardless of whether they've graduated. This year's edition of the Senior Bowl is definitely one to check out.

The game will kick off on Saturday, February 3rd at 1 p.m. ET on NFL Network, and FanDuel Sportsbook is offering odds for the contest. Let's check out the betting lines for the 2024 Senior Bowl and which key players could determine which sides will be the best bets.

2024 Senior Bowl Overview

The National Team is gearing up to be the pretty clear favorite for this game, which is likely due to the difference at quarterback. They have two potential first-round quarterbacks in Michael Penix Jr. from Washington and Bo Nix from Oregon. As if that was not enough, the QB room is completed by Notre Dame's Sam Hartman, who has over 15,000 career passing yards.

The American Team's quarterbacks pale in comparison with Joe Milton III of Tennessee, Spencer Rattler of South Carolina, Michael Pratt of Tulane, and Carter Bradley of South Alabama. This is a group full of inconsistent signal-callers, and Rattler and Pratt are potential day-two draft picks.

The Americans at least tout perhaps the best receiver in the game with Ladd McConkey from Georgia. The senior wideout has regularly torched defenders in one-on-one drills this week and could be pushing for a first-round grade.

The advantages just continue for the Nationals as they have two potential first-round picks with offensive tackles Taliese Fuaga (Oregon State) and Jordan Morgan (Arizona) -- who was rated as the No. 24 prospect for the 2024 NFL Draft by the NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah. They even have potential first-round defenders with cornerback Quinyon Mitchell (Toledo) and edge rusher Laiatu Latu (UCLA).

Some of the American's top players could include safety Kamren Kinchens (Miami) and Texas defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat, who are tracking to be second-round picks. Still, this roster seems to be clearly outmatched against the National squad.

The past two Senior Bowls have also gone under 40 points, which is something to keep in mind when betting on the total. The National Team and the under could be the top lines available for the 2024 Senior Bowl.
