While the New Orleans Saints set their sights on a blockbuster trade, they also have free agency questions to address. Chief among them is the future of standout safety Marcus Williams, who is set to hit the open market after the team elected to forgo using the franchise tag on him.

Now it's been revealed what Williams could command as an unrestricted free agent.

Marcus Williams Contract

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports Williams could "easily" see a deal worth $12-15 million per year and possibly top out at $70 over five years. Schultz also adds the New York Jets, Washington Commanders and Detroit Lions are among the teams most interested in the safety.

It's no surprise to see Williams in line for a massive pay day. He's been nothing but productive over his first five NFL seasons with the Saints, racking up a combined 15 interceptions, 38 passes defended and 3 forced fumbles.

Williams is considered the top free agent at his position and ranked No. 8 overall according to ProFootballFocus, so he's in position to demand a premium for his services.

That could make re-signing the playmaker very difficult for New Orleans, especially as the organization tries to pull off a deal for Deshaun Watson.
