Both the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs used the Super Bowl bye week to give a number of key players rest before the big game. This included two members of the Eagles' offensive line, Landon Dickerson and Lane Johnson.

It's still too early to start worrying about any of the players who rested this week as next week's practices will be a much better indicator of their Super Bowl status. And fortunately, Johnson spoke to the media on Friday to provide a much-needed positive update on his nagging groin injury.

Johnson put the fears of Eagles fans to rest and indicated there's no chance he'll miss any playing time during Super Bowl 57. The veteran offensive lineman did miss the final two games of the regluar season with this same injury, but played nearly 100% of the snaps in both the Divisional Round and NFC Championship.

“It’s better now,” said Johnson on Friday. “It is what it is. But it is not bothering me to the extent it was earlier." The 2022 All-Pro and Pro Bowler is doing whatever he can to play through the pain. Reports suggested that only offseason surgery will fully heal the ailment, but the standout o-lineman wasn't ready to miss postseason football and knew the surgery had to wait.

Philly's offensive line is one of their biggest advantages in this matchup. Voted the No. 1 unit by PFF's end-of-season rankings, Johnson is the best player on this unit. He didn't allow a single sack in over 500 pass-blocking snaps.

Especially facing the intimidating Chris Jones, who ended the year with 15.5 sacks, Johnson's health and the performance of Philadelphia's entire offensive line could play a major factor in the big game. For now, the Eagles are 1.5-point favorites according to Super Bowl 57 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
