The Miami Dolphins remain thin at the wide receiver position and Devante Parker's latest injury update doesn't make things any better. The veteran wideout is unlikely to suit up in Week 7 against the Atlanta Falcons as he continues to work his way back from shoulder & hamstring issues.
Parker has seen at least 7 targets in each of his four games played this season and leaves a lot of snaps up for grabs if he is unable to play. His absence does boost the fantasy outlook of WR Jaylen Waddle. The rookie should be quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's go-to target on Sunday afternoon.
Jaylen Waddle Fantasy Outlook
It's notable to point out that Waddle's best performance of the season came in Week 6, a game in which Parker missed due to his injuries. The 22-year-old hauled in 10 of his team-high 13 targets for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns. It was the second time this year he racked up double-digit receptions.
Waddle also played in a career-high 93% of the offensive snaps last week and there's no reason to believe that number will dip in Week 7. His chemistry with Tagovailoa is clear from their days of playing together at Alabama and he draws a great matchup against a subpar Atlanta defense.
The Falcons have posted the third-worst pass defense DVOA rating in the NFL and are giving up an opponent completion percentage of 68.4% (No. 25 in NFL). Look for the Dolphins to lean on a passing game that has been improving as of late.
Waddle has WR2 upside and checks in at WR28 in The Duel's Week 7 fantasy football rankings.
