All eyes are on Derek Carr this offseason as he hits the free agent market. Carr is one of the best FA quarterbacks available, which could lead to a nice pay day for the Pro Bowler given the amount of QB-needy teams around the league.

Carr seems to recognize his leverage and wants to capitalize on it this spring.

Diana Russini of ESPN reports Carr wants a deal of $35-plus million per year this offseason. This news comes on the heels word that Carr's market is getting hotter as free agency approaches.

Now, it's no surprise Carr's camp has made it known he wants to cash in. As one of the top options at the most important position, he can milk this situation for all it's worth. And after missing out on $40 million in guaranteed money following his release by the Las Vegas Raiders, he'll surely want to recoup as much of that as possible.

It remains to be seen how much other teams perceive Carr's value, though. A $35 million per year deal would tie him him with Kirk Cousins for the ninth-highest AAV (average annual value) in the league. Coming off of a down year, some might not want to pay Carr like a top-10 QB.

Perhaps Carr's best chance of getting close to his asking price is a bidding war breaking out. The New York Jets and New Orleans Saints have both been heavily linked to the four-time Pro Bowler recently, but there's other suitors expected to be in the mix as well.
