College Football Player Props for This Week

Jeremiah Smith Under 132.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Ohio State at Indiana — 12:00 p.m. ET

Jeremiah Smith - Receiving Yds

Jeremiah Smith Under

Jeremiah Smith has been one of the most dominant receivers in college football this season, and he might be on his way to winning a Heisman. But a receiving-yardage line of 132.5 is high enough for me to look toward the under.

Smith has 48 catches for 916 yards and 11 touchdowns through six games, giving him a massive 152.7 receiving yards per game. However, that average is being lifted by consecutive explosions of 217 yards against Illinois and 206 against Iowa. Sandwiching those two eruptions were outings of 85 and 93 yards versus Maryland and Kent State.

The Indiana Hoosiers represents a much tougher assignment than most of the defenses Smith has seen. The Hoosiers enter this matchup unbeaten, and this should be a difficult road environment for Ohio State's passing attack.

Smith is capable of smashing just about any number, and Ohio State has fed him huge 67 targets through six games. That makes this recommendation scary. Still, asking Smith to reach 133 receiving yards gives us some cushion. He can have a good day and still go under, and in a road clash with an IU team that is very sound defensively, I like the under.

DeSean Bishop Over 94.5 Rushing Yards (-114)

Alabama at Tennessee — 3:30 p.m. ET

DeSean Bishop - Rushing Yds

DeSean Bishop Over
Oct 17 7:30pm UTCMore odds in Sportsbook

DeSean Bishop has been a workhorse for the Tennessee Volunteers, and I'm willing to back his rushing volume at home against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Bishop enters Saturday with 678 rushing yards on 107 attempts, averaging 113.0 yards per game and 6.3 yards per carry. He's gone over 94.5 rushing yards in five of six games, with his only two sub-95 performances coming against Texas and Kennesaw State.

His recent workload is especially encouraging. Bishop exploded for 220 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries against Auburn, then followed that with 138 yards and a score on 19 attempts at Arkansas.

That means Bishop has piled up 358 rushing yards on 53 attempts over his past two games, good for 6.8 yards per carry.

While the Vols being a home ‘dog could lead to a more pass-heavy game script, this contest has shootout potential with the total at 50.5. I am backing Bishop to find a way to do enough on the ground to clear 94.5 yards.

Darian Mensah Over 2.5 Passing Touchdowns (-130)

Florida State at Miami — 7:00 p.m. ET

Darian Mensah - Passing TDs

Darian Mensah Over
Oct 17 11:00pm UTCMore odds in Sportsbook

For our night-game prop, let's turn to Darian Mensah and the Miami (FL) Hurricanes‘ high-powered passing attack against the Florida State Seminoles.

Mensah's 2026 numbers have been absurd. Through five starts, he's completed 112 of 133 passes (84.2%) for 1,438 yards, 15 touchdowns, and zero interceptions. That's 287.6 passing yards and exactly 3.0 touchdown passes per game.

Mensah has thrown at least three touchdown passes in four of his five games. His only miss came in Miami's most recent game at Clemson, when he finished with one touchdown pass. Prior to that, his passing-TD totals were 5, 3, 3, and 3.

Florida State has allowed 244.7 passing yards and 1.5 passing touchdowns per game, and the Seminoles rank just 83rd nationally in Sports Reference's team-defense table. Miami, meanwhile, has been one of the nation's most productive offenses, and the Hurricanes are favored by more than three touchdowns with a game total around 56.5 points.

That creates plenty of touchdown equity for Mensah. Given that he's averaging three passing scores per game and has cleared this mark in 80% of his starts, I'll back him to throw at least three touchdowns under the lights against Florida State.

College Football Prop Betting FAQ

What are college football player props?

Player props are wagers based on an individual player's performance rather than the final score of the game. Common examples include passing yards, rushing yards, receiving yards, touchdowns, and completions.

What should you look for when betting college football player props?

Usage and matchup are two of the biggest factors. Bettors should consider snap share, carries, targets, quarterback tendencies, game script, opponent strength, and whether a player's recent production is supported by a consistent workload.

Are college football player props available for every game?

No. Sportsbooks typically offer more player props for nationally televised games and matchups involving major programs, while smaller games may have fewer markets available. Also, college player props are not allowed in some states where sports betting is legal.
