Indiana vs Ohio State Prediction, Best Bets and Picks
Ohio State-Indiana Under 50.5 (-110)
Total Points
Despite the offensive talent on both sides, the under looks appealing because these are two of the nation's stingiest defenses.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are allowing only 13.2 points per game while the Indiana Hoosiers have surrendered just 11.8 per contest. The Hoosiers have also held opponents to roughly 238 total yards per game.
The Buckeyes' pass defense has been especially impressive. Ohio State has allowed only 904 passing yards across six games, an average of 150.7 per game, while holding opposing quarterbacks to 4.8 yards per attempt. Those marks place Ohio State atop the national passing-defense leaderboard through Week 6.
Indiana's defense has been difficult to run against, as well. The Hoosiers are giving up only 75.0 rushing yards per game and 2.3 yards per carry, which could force Ohio State to lean heavily on Julian Sayin — something the Buckeyes usually don’t have to do.
We also saw these teams play a low-scoring game in last season's Big Ten Championship, when Indiana won 13-10. While one previous meeting doesn’t mean much when it comes to this year's outcome, especially with how different the defensive personnel is for both squads, these are still two very strong defenses. I’m expecting them to hold the edge over both offenses.
Josh Hoover Under 217.5 Passing Yards (-114)
Josh Hoover - Passing Yds
Josh Hoover has been extremely efficient for Indiana, but this is easily the most difficult passing matchup he's faced.
Hoover has thrown for 1,364 yards through six games, averaging 227.3 per contest. His individual passing totals are 231, 145, 273, 201, 251 and 263 yards, so he's gone under 217.5 just twice.
But OSU is a different beast. The Buckeyes have permitted just 150.7 passing yards per game and a 53.2% completion rate. They've given up only two passing touchdowns all season while recording four interceptions.
Only Illinois has reached 241 passing yards against Ohio State this season. The Buckeyes held Texas to 195, Iowa to 199 and Maryland to just 64 through the air.
Indiana also has a strong ground game to lean on. Turbo Richard has already rushed for 597 yards, and the Hoosiers are averaging more than 220 rushing yards per game. That balance should allow Indiana to avoid asking Hoover to throw 35 or 40 times unless the game script forces it, and as long as IU can stay close, they’ll likely try to lean on the run game as much as they can to keep the Buckeyes’ explosive offense on the sideline.
With Ohio State limiting both passing efficiency and explosive passes at an elite level, Hoover's passing-yardage under is my favorite player prop for this game.

College Football Betting FAQ
What are the most common college football bets?
The most common college football bets are the point spread, moneyline, and game total. Bettors can also wager on player props, team totals, alternate spreads, and futures such as conference champions or the national championship winner.
How does the point spread work in college football betting?
The point spread gives one team a handicap to create a more even betting market. If a team is listed at -7.5, it must win by at least eight points for a spread bet on that team to cash. A team listed at +7.5 can lose by seven points or fewer — or win outright — and still cover the spread.
What does over/under mean in college football?
An over/under, also called a game total, is a wager on the combined number of points scored by both teams. Bettors can choose whether the final score will finish over or under the sportsbook's posted total.
What should you consider before betting on college football?
Matchups, quarterback play, offensive and defensive efficiency, injuries, pace, home-field advantage, and coaching tendencies can all be important.
