The amount of time NFL coaches are given to prove themselves has typically shortened over the past several seasons, with many franchises growing impatient with their lack of success. There were five changes at head coach this NFL offseason, but there are more seats that have started heating up too.

Keeping that in mind, here's a look at three NFL head coaches who could end up getting fired this season.

1. Adam Gase, New York Jets

Some already felt Adam Gase shouldn't have gotten this job to begin with, and his loss to the then-winless Miami Dolphins nearly ended his Jets' tenure during his first season with the team. However, the Jets pulled together and nearly went .500 (7-9). However, if the Jets fail to make any improvements under Gase in his second season, especially on the offensive side of the ball, the team could decide to cut ties with him early, hoping to pair their young quarterback with the right man for the job sooner rather than later.

2. Doug Marrone, Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars fired their executive VP of football operations Tom Coughlin this offseason, which likely means mean head coach Doug Marrone's job is next on the list if Jacksonville doesn't see the improvements they're expecting this season. Having swung and missed on bringing in Nick Foles at QB, Jacksonville could have yet another quiet season in an improving AFC South, which could eventually call for Marrone's job. He is 22-28 in his three-plus seasons with Jacksonville, finishing last in the division twice.

3. Dan Quinn, Atlanta Falcons

It looked like Dan Quinn could have been fired during his team's bye week, but the Falcons somehow finished the season 6-2 down the final stretch. Still, the Falcons have not been the same since blowing their 28-3 lead in Super Bowl LI. Should Atlanta finish with a losing record for the third season in a row, Arthur Blank could be forced to make a change at head coach before his playmakers are too old to compete at a high level.
