Lou Williams on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Trade in 2019: "We were heartbroken"

In 2019, the Los Angeles Clippers traded guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, five first-round picks, and more to the Oklahoma City Thunder for All-NBA forward Paul George in order to entice fellow All-NBA forward Kawhi Leonard to sign with the team. Five years later, Gilgeous-Alexander has blossomed into an All-NBA player while the Clippers have yet to make the noise they were hoping to make when they traded for George and signed Leonard.

Lou Williams, who played on the Clippers when the trade happened and is now an analyst on Run It Back, shared on the first show of the new season that the players on the team were "heartbroken" when they heard Gilgeous-Alexander had been dealt.
