Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Using FanDuel Research's daily basketball projections -- which are powered by numberFire -- as a guide, here are some NBA player prop bets that look appealing via the NBA odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

NBA Prop Bets

Russell Westbrook Over 23.5 Pts + Reb + Ast (-102)

Kawhi Leonard (adductor strain), who is having an MVP-esque season, will be out for the Los Angeles Clippers in tonight's showdown against the Golden State Warriors.

Enter Russell Westbrook, a player who knows how to make a meal of the stat sheet and will be granted more opportunity with the Clips' leading scorer sidelined.

Westbrook is netting a lofty 33.3 combined points, rebounds, and assists (PRA) per 36 minutes. He's playing only 23.0 minutes each game, but his scoring and playmaking abilities will come in handy as the Clippers vie to make up for Leonard's absence, which should result in additional court time for Russ.

In four games without Leonard this season, Westbrook has averaged 27.9 PRA.

The Warriors should serve as a great matchup, too. Westbrook scores 61.5% of his points in the paint, and Golden State gives up a league-high amount of field goal makes in the paint.

Westbrook could also see some work at the foul line, as Golden State is surrendering the ninth-most free throw attempts to guards per 36 minutes as well as the 11th-most points per game to point guards.

FanDuel Research's projections -- which are powered by numberFire -- anticipate Russ to net 27.8 PRA in this one. I'm equally as bullish on the over and would even target the alt markets for Westbrook's PRA prop should they be made available before game time.

Saddiq Bey Over 14.5 Points (-113)

Saddiq Bey has been shining as of late, and a date with the Charlotte Hornets should allow him to keep rolling.

Bey has eclipsed 14.5 points in 8 of his last 10 games, averaging 17.6 points per night in that span.

Clint Capela (groin), the starting center for the Atlanta Hawks, is out for tonight's game. Bey has played in seven Capela-less games this season. In that split, he is netting 16.6 points per contest and has scored over 14.5 points in all but two games.

While I'm encouraged by Bey's recent play, especially since Capela remains sidelined, the most intriguing part about this prop lies in the matchup.

The Hornets are surrendering the third-most points per game to small forwards. Bey accumulates 39.3% of his points in the paint while Charlotte is giving up the seventh-most paint points each game.

Bey is also a solid three-point candidate, cashing in 39.3% of his points from behind the arc. The Hornets, meanwhile, are letting up the eighth-most three-point makes (3PM) to forwards per 36 minutes.

Add in that the Hawks are favored by only 7.0 points, and it seems Bey should receive a full game's worth of workload against one of the NBA's worst defenses.

Marvin Bagley Over 11.5 Points (-106)

This season, Marvin Bagley III has found himself on the rosters of the two worst teams in basketball -- the Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards. Although Bagley can't find his way to the win column very often, his time in Washington has been fruitful.

In 10 games as a Wizard, Bagley is averaging 13.8 points per game. He has surpassed 11.5 points in 8 of the 10 contests.

While this isn't the most in-depth sample, I'm keen on taking Bagley's stats here at face value. The Wizards lack scoring threats, but nonetheless, someone has to score. A spot in Washington's starting lineup has resulted in excellent scoring production from Bagley, and I don't see any reason why tonight will be an exception.

The Wizards will take on the New Orleans Pelicans this evening. The Pelicans sport the league's seventh-best defensive rating, but that shouldn't stop Bagley from finding good looks.

Bagley nets 75.4% of his points in the paint, so it's clear that this is the predominant area of the court we should be concerned with. New Orleans is allowing opposing centers to shoot at the league's sixth-best clip from the five-foot range.

Plus, across their last 15 games, the Pelicans have been giving up the 10th-most points per game to centers.

Kyle Kuzma (illness) has been listed as questionable for this contest. Kuzma is -- by far -- the leading scorer of this team (21.8 points per game), so his potential absence could create further opportunities for players such as Bagley.
