After a disappointing 2020 NFL Season that saw them finish 4-11-1, the Philadelphia Eagles will be looking towards a fresh start in 2021. Nick Sirianni is the new head coach in town and he'll have his first opportunity to shape the Eagles' future through the NFL draft later this month.

Todd McShay has released his fourth mock draft for the upcoming NFL draft. Currently, he's projected the Eagles to use the No. 12 pick on Penn State linebacker Michah Parsons. McShay then has the team selecting wide receiver Rashod Bateman from the University of Minnesota with the No. 37 pick.

Eagles Mock Draft: Micah Parsons, Rashod Bateman

While drafting a linebacker in the first round is far from flashy, Micah Parsons is somebody that the Eagles need. The team's defense was lackluster last season and a player of Parsons' caliber would help spark that. The Eagles also rarely take linebackers this early. The last time they drafted one within the first three rounds was when they selected Jordan Hicks in the third round of the 2015 draft. Of course, Parson could be an exception to the rule as linebackers with his presence and playmaking ability don't come around that often.

On the other hand, the Eagles still need receiving help. After all, they averaged 207.9 passing yards per game last season, which was fifth-worst in the league.

Rashod Bateman would help them in that department. The 6'0" wide receiver caught 36 receptions for 472 yards and 2 touchdowns last season. While they may not seem like a lot, Bateman surpassed 1,200 yards with 11 touchdowns the previous season, showing that he has the potential to put up big numbers. He also didn't get the benefit of elite QB play like some of the other top wideouts in the class.

The Eagles have a long way to go to become Super Bowl contenders again. However, addressing needs on both sides of the ball with players like Parsons and Bateman would be a good starting point.
