  • Time: 3:00 p.m. ET
  • Venue: AccorHotels Arena -- Paris, France
  • Coverage: NBA TV, BSDET, and NBCS-CHI

The NBA heads overseas on Thursday, Jan. 19 for a matchup between the Detroit Pistons (12-35) and Chicago Bulls (20-24) at AccorHotels Arena in Paris, France.

The Pistons have looked allergic to winning lately, falling to 5-16 in their last 21 games with Sunday's 117-104 loss to the New York Knicks. On the other hand, the Bulls are coming off a 132-118 win over the Golden State Warriors led by Nikola Vucevic's game-high 43 points and 13 rebounds.

Can the Pistons reverse their fortunes in Paris? or will the Bulls inch closer to a .500 record with an international win?

Pistons vs. Bulls Betting Trends

  • The Bulls have put together a record of 22-19-1 against the spread this season.
  • This year, the Pistons have an ATS record of 13-9-2 in their 24 games as an underdog of 7 points or more.
  • Bulls games have finished with a final combined score above the over/under 20 times out of 44 chances this season.
  • Pistons games this year have hit the over on 25 of 44 set point totals (56.8%).
  • In home games, Chicago owns a better record against the spread (12-9-0) compared to its ATS record in road games (10-10-1).
  • In 2022-23 against the spread, Detroit has a lower winning percentage at home (.429, 9-10-2 record) than away (.522, 12-11-0).

Pistons vs. Bulls Prediction & Pick

The Bulls already beat the Pistons up to the tune of a 132-118 final score back on Dec. 30. Even with this game taking place in Paris, I don't that today's result will be any different. Detroit has been putrid away from home this season, averaging 110.6 points (sixth-worst) on 44.5% shooting (fourth-worst).

On top of that, the Pistons own a minus-9.1 scoring margin away from Little Caesars Arena. Have the Bulls been perfect this year? No, but they've at least won four of their last seven games away from United Center. Chicago also has the advantage of facing a banged-up Detroit squad that has already ruled out four players while three others are day-to-day/questionable.

With the majority of the Bulls' roster healthy, this is clearly their game to lose. Expect Chicago to leave the 'City of Light' with another win.

Final Score Prediction: Bulls: 127 | Pistons: 114

Pistons vs. Bulls Best Bet

It's been wise to bet against the Pistons when it comes to the spread lately. After all, they're 1-5 ATS in their last six games and have failed to cover the spread in six of their previous seven Central Division matchups.

On the flip side, the Bulls have been reliable, going 5-2 ATS in their last seven games, as well as 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 against fellow Eastern Conference teams. Considering how Chicago is also 6-1 ATS in its last seven clashes with Detroit, count on the Bulls to beat the Pistons by a decent margin again.

Bet: Bulls -7.5 (-110)
