The 2021 NFL Draft is quickly approaching in less than one month, and the three top wide receiver prospects are from the SEC with two out of Alabama. Last year, the Las Vegas Raiders selected Alabama WR Henry Ruggs in the first round at No. 12 overall.

In a Pro Football Focus mock draft a month ago, PFF had the Raiders taking another wide receiver at No. 17 overall this year - Minnesota Gophers WR Rashod Bateman. But as the draft draws near, things continue to shuffle.

Despite needing more quality players and reinforcements on defense, Pro Football Focus now projects the Raiders to draft an offensive tackle. The target is Christian Darrisaw of Virginia Tech. The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder improved greatly in 2020, while earning an elite PFF grade of 95.6. Darrisaw allowed zero sacks, zero hits and only six hurries all season.

Darrisaw did not get a chance to show his pass blocking skills as often with fewer than 75 true pass sets all season long. Virginia Tech's offense did not resemble an NFL attack in terms of its pass-protection concepts. But Derrisaw's strength, power and competitive toughness make him a top target along the offensive line in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Raiders AFC West division rival San Diego Chargers have been rumored to be considering an offensive tackle with the No. 13 overall pick. Should he be available at No. 17, the Raiders may land their left tackle for potentially the next decade or more.
