Dak Prescott's contract situation was already one of the most talked about and complicated deals in the league. His future with the Dallas Cowboys unfortunately became a lot more uncertain when he suffered a devastating ankle injury that will sideline him for the remainder of the season.

And when speaking about Prescott's future with the organization, Cowboys' legend Michael Irvin didn't exactly sound confident that the star QB would return to Dallas.

Irvin repeatedly noted how uncertain the whole situation is. He pointed out there's a chance Andy Dalton could play lights out and lead this team to some wins, which could theoretically lessen Prescott's value to the club. That could make an already-difficult contract situation even more complicated.

Of course, the inverse could be true as well. The Dalton-led Cowboys could be terrible, potentially giving Dallas the chance to take Prescott's replacement high in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Point being, there's a lot of uncertainty about Prescott's future in Dallas. But it's especially surprising to hear that confirmed by Irving, who one can only assume would have some inside info on the Cowboys.
