Gardner Minshew Stats

Gardner Minshew spent his first two college seasons with the East Carolina Pirates, but his numbers were rather mediocre there. He played 17 games with East Carolina, tallying 3,487 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

In 2018, Minshew transferred to Washington State, where he thrived under head coach Mike Leach. In his lone season with the Cougars, Minshew threw for 4,779 passing yards and 38 touchdowns, while completing 70.7 percent of his passes. In fact, Minshew's season was good enough to earn him a fifth-place finish in the 2018 Heisman Trophy vote.

Gardner Minshew NFL Draft Projection

- Sixth Round

Gardner Minshew NFL Mock Draft Prediction

- Arizona Cardinals (No. 174), New York Giants (No. 180)

Although many NFL analysts are predicting the Arizona Cardinals will take Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick, Minshew could provide solid depth toward the end of the draft. Arizona's new head coach Kliff Kingsbury used to coach under Leach, and the two run similar offenses. Kingsbury could take a flier on Minshew as a backup, as he excelled in a similar offense in college.

The New York Giants are another team in need of a quarterback, and Minshew could be a great selection for them in the sixth round. Minshew displayed a lot of potential at Washington State, and he has a chance to turn himself into a valuable asset if he continues to progress. Taking a chance on Minshew makes a ton of sense for New York, as he's an extremely low-risk option that could pay off down the road.
