With Super Bowl LV behind us, the attention of the NFL world turns ahead to the 2021 offseason. Free agency will come first, but the marquee event is always the NFL Draft.

ESPN expert Todd McShay has released his first post-Super Bowl mock draft, and it includes some serious surprises.

One of the biggest is what he projects for the Atlanta Falcons.

Atlanta Falcons Mock Draft

Todd McShay projects the Falcons to spend the No. 4 pick on Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields.

This scenario would be surprising on a couple of levels.

At this point it's no shocker that the Falcons could be looking to draft a quarterback to replace Matt Ryan. But so far the buzz has not been about Justin Fields being that quarterback.

In an earlier mock draft, McShay had the Falcons taking BYU's Zach Wilson, while projecting Justin Fields to tumble down to No. 15 overall.

Now, McShay is expecting QBs to fly off the board with each of the first four picks of the draft. That means that the Falcons would be settling for the No. 4 quarterback prospect.

Of course, there's not much in the NFL that's more important than locking down a franchise quarterback. It wasn't too long ago that Fields was being discussed as a near-consensus No. 2 pick behind Trevor Lawrence. If the Falcons' front office thinks that Fields has what it takes to turn this team around, don't expect them to be too concerned with whether three quarterbacks were selected ahead of them or not.

The 2021 NFL Draft will be a very interesting one for Falcons fans.
