Update, Sunday Nov. 29, 11:35 a.m. EST: The Atlanta Falcons have officially declared Todd Gurley inactive for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Atlanta Falcons have had their struggles this season, and it appears the team can't catch a break with injuries. Running back Todd Gurley is now out with a knee injury, which is a blow to fantasy managers with him on the roster.
Now backup Brian Hill is in for a larger load in his team's Week 12 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Gurley has provided solid fantasy production this year, ranking as RB14 in PPR leagues. He is averaging 19.1 opportunities (16.7 rushes plus 2.4 targets) a game, accounting for 69.2 total yards per contest. The RB has 9 rushing touchdowns this season, which is good for a tie for fourth most this season.
Brian Hill Fantasy Outlook
Hill has served as Gurley's backup all year, averaging 8.0 opportunities (6.0 rushes plus 2.0 targets) per game. The running back is currently accounting for 26.1 rushing yards and 11.1 receiving yards per contest. With Gurley out, Hill's numbers should skyrocket.
When Hill is given the looks, he has shown he can produce. His best performance of the season came in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears, when he put up 15 fantasy points (PPR). Hill turned 9 rushes into 58 yards and a touchdown. Gurley is averaging 13.9 fantasy points per game, which should be relatively easy for Hill to reach with a similar workload.
Fantasy managers in need of RB help should seriously consider Hill, especially given his team's matchup with the Raiders. Las Vegas is surrendering the fourth-most fantasy points per game (28.64) to running backs this season. With Julio Jones injured, Hill and the run game may be heavily relied on in Week 12.
