The 2021 NFL Draft is almost here and the latest mock draft has been released by Mel Kiper and Todd McShay. Chicago fans will be hate to see that the Bears are projected to select Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley with the No. 20 pick in the first round.

Don't take it the wrong way, Farley is one of the top defensive prospects in this draft class. However, this doesn't address the Bears' biggest holes on the roster. They are still in search of a franchise quarterback and need to upgrade their offensive line before next season.

Caleb Farley Bears Rumors

Farley spent two seasons with the Hokies and racked up 43 tackles, 6 interceptions and 19 pass breakups. He could compete for playing time out of the gate, but does have a bit of an injury history. In fact, Farley was a surefire top-10 pick before he had surgery to repair a back issue recently.

The Bears' defense is what has been carrying them to playoff appearances in two of the last three seasons. Passing on a direct opportunity to grab a top offensive lineman or make a trade up for a quarterback would not be a smart move. Fans would definitely let GM Ryan Pace know it, too.

Despite being a playoff team, it still seems like Chicago hasn't gotten it all together quite yet. Farley is a solid pick at No. 20, but not the right pick for this team. Head Coach Matt Nagy may be coaching for his job as soon as next season.
