Allen Lazard Tweets Emotional Goodbye to Packer Fans

Allen Lazard's time with the Green Bay Packers officially came to an end on Tuesday, as the wide receiver decided to sign with the New York Jets in free agency. Lazard's departure was expected, though it's still sad for Packers fans to see a homegrown talent walk away.

On Wednesday, the wideout penned an emotional goodbye to all the cheeseheads out there.

In a three-part tweet thread, Lazard first highlighted his appreciation for the fans in Green Bay for having his back "since day one." He also thanked the organization and its coaches for all their support during his five-year run.

This is an extremely classy note for Lazard to leave off on. He grew up before fans' eyes, going from an undrafted WR just trying to make the roster to the team's leading pass-catcher in 2022. That development is part of what makes it so hard to see him walk.

Though it's clear Lazard thought it was time to move on after this season, it's obvious his experience in Green Bay will stick with him forever. Now he'll look to continue his growth in New York, where he's expected to be catching passes from Aaron Rodgers once again.
