Seattle Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright is set to become an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his 10-year career next month. He continued his strong play in 2020 as a solid off-ball linebacker while also keeping up his great presence in coverage.

Wright is 31 years old, and he wants to make sure he gets paid this offseason. Here are three teams that could take a shot on the veteran in free agency.

1. Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers desperately need help at linebacker. No player at the position that played more than 10 snaps earned an overall ProFootballFocus grade above 62.0 last season. The Panthers threw all their draft resources at defense last year, and they have the cap space to spend in free agency if they decide to upgrade with some veterans.

2. Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns need improvements on defense, and Wright could join a rising contender with lots of younger talent. The Browns' top two linebackers ranked 15th and 16th in PFF grades, and almost all of their LBs struggled in coverage, an area where Wright shines.

3. Green Bay Packers

Injuries derailed the Packers' linebackers in 2020. The group's overall baseline was not high, and reinforcements need to be added to a younger core that did show some flashes last season. The Packers are not in a solid cap position for spending, but some defensive reinforcments would keep them among the NFC's top teams again in 2021. Linebacker is a position that needs to be addressed.
