Super Bowl Odds Update: Detroit Is Here to Stay
Now in the second half of the 2023-24 NFL regular season, it seems we have a pretty good idea of which sides can contend for Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.
At FanDuel Sportsbook, the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles have essentially remained as big-game frontrunners for this season's entirety. When you consider the talent that those three teams possess on both sides of the football, their high spots on the oddsboard makes complete sense.
After the top-three squads, the next tier of Super Bowl hopefuls consists of the Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions. Of course, the Buffalo Bills were firmly in the conversation, but a recent loss to the Denver Broncos has Buffalo down at 5-5 overall.
Before NFL Week 11 officially gets underway, let's dive into the latest Super Bowl LVIII odds, keeping an eye on risers and droppers in the market.

Notable Jumps
Detroit Lions
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: +1300
Last Week: +1500
At 7-2, the Lions currently hold the top spot in the NFC North. If Detroit can hold on for the remainder of the regular season, it would be their first division title since 1993 (when they were still playing in the now non-existent NFC Central).
In 2023, Motor City has been led by a dynamic offensive group. With a skill cast of Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs and Josh Reynolds, the Lions are second overall in yards per game right now at 406.4. Of course, Detroit's offensive line is the straw that stirs the drink; Pro Football Focus has them graded as the top OL unit in 2023.
Head coach Dan Campbell has done an incredible job changing the football culture in the 313 over the past two and a half seasons. Seemingly, the whole team seems to carry themselves with a collective chip on their shoulders -- defenders Aidan Hutchinson and Alex Anzalone are always sure to set the energy temp.
Detroit's scrappy play has earned respect on numberFire's power rankings; the Lions (6.63 nERD) show up at seventh in the NFL, there.
Denver Broncos
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: +17000
Last Week: +29000
Three weeks into the current campaign, it seemed like it would be another lost year for Denver. However, after snapping off three consecutive wins, the Broncos are finally starting to develop an identity under head coach Sean Payton.
Yes, the Broncos began the season with just one win over their first six games. Fast-forward to now, and Denver has defeated Kansas City (something they had not done since 2015) and Buffalo in back-to-back weeks.
Admittedly, quarterback Russell Wilson has not regained vintage form, but he is certainly more productive in 2023 than he was last season. Wilson shined in last Monday's win over Buffalo. In that bid, Wilson looked more like "DangeRuss," completing 24 of 29 passes for two touchdowns. If you missed it, his second-quarter scoring strike to Courtland Sutton along the left sideline may go down as one of the plays of the year.

Is Broncos Country ready to contend for the upcoming Super Bowl? Probably not. But supporters in the Mile High should take solace in the recent improvements. However, per numberFire's model, Denver still yields just a 1.6% chance to make the playoffs.
Steep Drops
Buffalo Bills
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: +2500
Last Week: +1500
As previously mentioned, the Bills currently find themselves in a rut. Falling to 5-5 on the season after losing at home against Denver, Buffalo has notably dismissed Ken Dorsey from his offensive coordinator duties. Still, will the mid-season change help at all with their turnover woes?
Gifted as he is, quarterback Josh Allen has appeared out of sync lately. He has been solid at times, compiling 19 touchdowns on 7.4 yards per attempt in 2023. However, Allen paces the entire league in interceptions with 11 at the moment. Additionally, he's fumbled four times this year.
Of course, Buffalo's rough stretch should not be attributed to Allen alone, but that is likely why Dorsey was fired expeditiously after Monday's loss. The playcalling has seemed stagnant for the Bills, as their ground game has been unable to flourish in 2023. Of course, it certainly didn't help when tailback James Cook coughed up the rock early versus Denver.
In a crowded AFC, the Bills now face the arduous task of clawing back into the playoff picture. In Buffalo's own division, they are second behind the Miami Dolphins. However, since the Bills defeated Miami back in Week 4, Buffalo is still very much alive. They'll see the 'Fins again in the regular season finale.
Green Bay Packers
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: +25000
Last Week: +14000
Well, the Green Bay Packers' season is not going as head coach Matt LaFleur would have hoped. As Aaron Rodgers left for the Big Apple last offseason, the Packers were confident going forward with quarterback (and 2020 first-round selection) Jordan Love. Nine games into 2023, Green Bay is sitting dismally at 3-6.
With the Lions playing how they are, the Pack can probably rule out postseason contention for this season. However, that doesn't mean that Green Bay is without pieces to build around.
Love has tossed multiple touchdowns in four of nine contests this year, while young receivers Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs have upside as playmakers. So, why isn't Green Bay winning?
Unfortunately for Northeastern Wisconsin, Love is tied for second-most interceptions in the NFL (10). Additionally, the Pack's current scoring clip of only 19.9 PPG lands them 21st overall. Simply, that is not good enough for an offensive mind like LaFleur.
