Champions League Betting Picks for Tuesday 11/7/23

The reverse fixtures from two weeks ago are what we are presented with this week in the Champions League.

When looking at the Champions League soccer odds at FanDuel Sportsbook, which bets make the most sense for this Tuesday?

UCL Betting: Tuesday 11/7/23

Celtic at Atletico Madrid (3:00 PM ET)

Under 2.5 Goals (+128)

Call me stubborn, but I'm going back to this bet that lost two weeks in the match between these two clubs.

That game went over this total in under 30 minutes the last time. The expected goal (xG) numbers weren't crazy, though, as it was only 2.1 to 0.9 in favor of Atletico Madrid (via FBRef).

The Spanish side continues to be very stingy defensively. They've allowed by far the fewest xG in La Liga this season and have only allowed more than 1.3 xG in one of their 14 matches this season.

Celtic have created just 2.3 xG in their three Champions League games. Now they have to go on the road to face a team managed by Diego Simeone -- a manager notorious for playing a solid, defensively-structured style.

Atleti have one of the best goalkeepers in the world in Jan Oblak. They should be able to keep Celtic at bay and don't tend to score a ton of goals themselves.

Antwerp at Porto (3:00 PM ET )

Porto -1.5 (+114)

We've got a mismatch in this game between an experienced Champions League side and a team making their first appearance in the group stage.

When these teams played in Belgium, Porto were able to win fairly comfortably 4-1. The xG numbers make the match look a bit closer, as it was just 1.3 to 0.7 in Porto's favor.

Antwerp sit in sixth place in the Belgian league, the eighth-ranked league in Europe by UEFA. Porto are third in the Portuguese league, which is ranked one spot higher in the UEFA coefficients.

In Antwerp's only other away match in the Champions League, they lost 5-0 to Barcelona. Porto aren't Barcelona, but they have a lot of talent and a great manager in Sergio Conceicao.

Antwerp will be without Ritchie De Laet and Anthony Valencia, who appeared in that match two weeks ago. De Laet is an experienced full back, and his absence could hurt the Belgian side.

Getting a price of +114 for Porto to win by more than one goal is enough to warrant consideration for me.

Player Props

David Raum to Score or Assist (+210): David Raum was hugely involved in RB Leipzig's attack two weeks ago in their 3-1 win against Crvena Zvezda, with a goal and an assist.

Raum takes corner kicks for Leipzig and has nine chances created in three Champions League games this season. In a match where his side is a large favorite, it's not crazy to think that he can contribute to a goal in this game.

Jeremy Doku to Assist (+145): We saw on the weekend that Doku is capable of setting up goals. He had four assists in his team's 6-1 win.

Manchester City are even bigger favorites in this game against Young Boys than they were in that match against Bournemouth. They beat the Swiss side 3-1 away, and now at home, they have a great chance to inflict more damage on them.

If they are to do so, it's likely that Doku will set up at least one goal.
