3 MLB FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Wednesday 6/7/23

Finding low-salary production is one way to get a leg up on the competition in MLB DFS.

Here are some low-salary players to target on FanDuel for tonight's main slate.

Jaime Barria, P, Angels ($6,200)

Jaime Barria has a great matchup with the Chicago Cubs and looks to be a solid value at pitcher.

Barria is having his best statistical season to date as his 25.0% strikeout rate is the highest of his career while his 26.7% hard-hit rate allowed shows his ability to limit loud contact this season. His biggest improvement, which could be why this is tracking like a career-best year through 34 innings pitched, is his ground-ball rate as it's at 47.2%.

As for the matchup, the Cubs are struggling, especially of late. So far in June, they're in the bottom five in weighted on-base average (wOBA) at .261 and have been blanked twice already this month. Their season-long strikeout rate is the sixth-highest in baseball (24.5%), which sets up well for Barria.

numberFire's model projects Barria to finish with 28.2 fantasy points. If you're trying to save coin on the bump, he's a fine place to turn.

Evan Longoria, 3B, Diamondbacks ($2,700)

Evan Longoria may not be the player he once was, but advanced statistics paint a pretty good picture of him.

The Arizona Diamondbacks' third baseman gets an ideal matchup against lefty Patrick Corbin. Longoria's profile against lefties includes an impressive .387 wOBA and a stunning 54.1% hard-hit rate, setting him up for major success in this spot.

Corbin, on the other hand, doesn't have much to be excited about. He owns an ugly 4.84 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), the highest of his career. The Washington Nationals' starter also has a meager 14.0% strikeout rate, setting up the Diamondbacks for a big night. As such, Arizona boasts a 4.95 implied total, the fifth-highest of the slate.

According to numberFire's model, Longoria is the night's top point-per-dollar bat.

Chris Taylor, OF/3B/SS, Dodgers ($2,700)

Rostering a hitter from the Los Angeles Dodgers is never a bad choice, so consider adding utilityman Chris Taylor to your lineups tonight.

Taylor has been rock solid this year for the Dodgers -- much like he has been for the majority of his tenure with Los Angeles. Taylor's .342 expected wOBA ranks as the second-best clip of his career. His 50.6% fly-ball rate and 37.8% hard-hit rate give him appealing upside, and he can have a good night at hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park.

The Cincinnati Reds are starting Brandon Williamson, and things haven't gone well for the southpaw through four starts. His poor 5.14 SIERA and 19.8% strikeout rate should lead to the Dodgers' offense taking advantage all game long, and Taylor has mashed in this split, hammering left-handers for a .425 wOBA, 43.3% hard-hit rate and 56.7% fly-ball rate.

With a 6.07 implied total, LA is a great stacking option tonight, and Taylor is a low-salary way to get in on the fun.
