3 Home Run Prop Best Bets for Wednesday 7/24/24

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel.

Corey Seager to Hit a Home Run (+300)

Corey Seager projects well to go long against Chris Flexen and the Chicago White Sox.

Flexen is letting up a 46.7% fly-ball rate (league-average is 37.8%) and an 8.4% barrel rate (233rd among 376 qualified pitchers).

Seager rates out top-20 in barrel rate himself (15.3%) and is in a plus-homer park tonight.

Pete Alonso to Hit a Home Run (+400)

Pete Alonso will be facing Gerrit Cole, who has a 9.8% barrel rate on the year. That ranks him 378th among 468 pitchers with at least 50 batted ball events.

Cole is also letting up a 50.0% fly-ball rate, which is more than 10.0 points above the league average.

Alonso is top-55 in barrel rate (11.3%) and heads to a homer-friendly park for right-handed batters.

Gunnar Henderson to Hit a Home Run (+500)

Home Run Derby participant Gunnar Henderson slots into a matchup with a platoon advantage against righty Edward Cabrera today.

Cabrera isn't a flawless matchup. He has a 33.7% fly-ball rate and a 28.1% strikeout rate.

However, he does also let up a 47.7% hard-hit rate, nearly 10.0 points above the MLB average. Cabrera's also letting up a 13.6% barrel rate across 88 batted balls. That ranks him 372nd among 376 qualified pitchers this season.

Henderson's 13.5% barrel rate and .574 SLG in conjunction with that number look intriguing.
