In recent years, rookies have been extremely valuable in fantasy football. Just last season, Saquon Barkley took the NFL by storm, rushing for 1,307 yards and 11 TDs. While it's unlikely that any rookie will approach those totals this year, the 2019 draft class appears to be strong from a fantasy perspective.

With that in mind, here are the top rookies to know for the 2019 fantasy football season.

5. T.J. Hockenson, TE, Detroit Lions

Tight ends rarely make a statistical impact as rookies, but if there's anyone qualified to break that mold, it's likely T.J. Hockenson. The Iowa product has drawn early comparisons to Rob Gronkowski and should immediately become the Lions' starting tight end. With Matthew Stafford throwing him the ball, Hockenson has a chance to be a TE1 as a rookie.

4. N'Keal Harry, WR, New England Patriots

For all the praise the New England Patriots (rightfully) receive, the team has notably struggled to draft wide receivers. N'Keal Harry is the team's only first-round wide receiver selection since Terry Glenn in 1996. Hopefully that's a sign that the team has big plans for Harry as a rookie. Last season, New England selected Sony Michel in the first round, and he instantly became the team's bell cow, rushing for 931 yards and six TDs. With the 72 targets Gronkowski saw last season now up for grabs, Harry could have a breakout rookie season.

3. David Montgomery, RB, Chicago Bears

David Montgomery could step into a pretty significant role with the Chicago Bears right away. Jordan Howard was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason, and it's likely that Montgomery could receive most of the 250 rushing attempts Howard saw last season. Montgomery is a powerful, decisive runner who racked up 1,216 yards last year at Iowa State. He should also serve as the Bears' goal line back, which further ups his fantasy potential.

2. Kyler Murray, QB, Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray is probably the most hyped player on this list, but it's not hard to see why. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner is an explosive athlete, tallying 1,001 rushing yards last season at Oklahoma, and he's also being coached by Kliff Kingsbury, an innovative offensive mind who could put Murray's unique skill set to good use. He should be the top rookie QB in fantasy in 2019.

1. Josh Jacobs, RB, Oakland Raiders

Josh Jacobs arguably has the best marriage of talent and opportunity in this rookie class. He proved that he's a do-it-all back at Alabama, tallying 247 yards through the air and 640 rushing yards in 2018. Jacobs will step into an Oakland Raiders organization with little talent at RB, as Doug Martin looks to be Jacobs' only real competition for work. Right now, Jacobs looks to be an RB2 with potential for an RB1 finish, if all breaks well this season.
