Remember in 2019 when Ezekiel Elliott was threatening to hold out and Tony Pollard looked positioned for a monster year in fantasy football?

That didn't end up working out for players who drafted Pollard, but the same factors that made him so exciting in 2019 also make him the best running back handcuff in 2021 fantasy football.

Tony Pollard Fantasy Football Outlook

Ezekiel Elliott is one of the league's biggest workhorses at the running back position. He has notched 300-plus carries in two of the last three seasons, also catching 50-plus passes in all three. He's been on a 16-game pace for at least 315 touches in all five of his NFL seasons.

That means when he doesn't play, the Dallas Cowboys offense is left with a massive void — which Tony Pollard would fill.

Just look at the only game Zeke missed in 2020. Pollard saw 21 opportunities (12 rush attempts plus nine targets) and scored 31.2 PPR fantasy points, even though he was playing in an Andy Dalton-led offense.

The Cowboys clearly have faith in him as a well-rounded producer, giving him 187 carries and 60 targets across his first two NFL seasons. If Zeke were to miss any extended time, Pollard would see no shortage of work.

He doesn't have a ton of standalone value, but his massive handcuff upside still has him checking in at RB42 in The Duel's 2021 PPR fantasy football rankings.
