Miles Sanders Injury Update Helps His Week 8 Fantasy Outlook
By Max Staley

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said that star running back Miles Sanders is considered "day-to-day" with a hamstring injury. Sanders missed the team's Week 7 matchup, but he was originally given a 1-to-2 week timeline. The fact that he apparently has a chance to play is huge for his fantasy outlook against the terrible Dallas Cowboys' defense.
Sanders would instantly be back in the high-end RB1 conversation if he's active, while Boston Scott would work as the lead back again if the second-year RB can't suit up.

Miles Sanders Fantasy Outlook
If Sanders is active, you're starting him. Even if he's not at 100%.
This Cowboys' defense is atrocious, giving up a league-worst 34.7 points per game (PPG). That's not just awful, it's historically awful. If that mark holds, Dallas would be the worst scoring defense of the last 15 years, worse than the winless 2008 Detroit Lions team that allowed 32.3 PPG.
Dallas is the league's third-worst run defense in Football Outsiders' DVOA metrics. The Cowboys are allowing league-highs in rushing yards per game (178.3) and yards per carry (5.2), and they've also given up 11 TDs on the year (No. 31).
Sanders is arguably the most talented running back they've faced this season. He should have no trouble carving up this defense if he's anywhere near full health.
Boston Scott Fantasy Outlook
The talent gap between Sanders and Scott is pretty wide, but Scott would likely slot in as a high-end RB2 if Sanders can't go.
For all the reasons listed above, it feels like anyone with a pulse can put up a career day against this defense. Scott turned 17 opportunities (12 carries plus 5 targets) into 92 yards and a score while filling in for Sanders last week against a competent New York Giants' defense.
He can be expected to do a whole lot more this week if Sanders can't play.
