While traditional player props like home runs and strikeouts remain popular options, one market that's gained steam is betting whether or not no runs will be scored in the first inning -- aka a No Run First Inning (NRFI) bet.

Best NRFI Picks and Predictions for Today

White Sox at Guardians — NRFI

Foster Griffin is a pitcher I want to target in this market. He's 24-5 in his career in first-inning NRFI results, and he's been good lately, posting an 80% NRFI rate over his last 10 starts.

Davis Martin is getting the ball for the Chicago White Sox, and he checks in at a 69% NRFI rate for his career and 71% since the beginning of 2025.

Griffin enters at 15-5 with a 3.65 ERA and 146 strikeouts. Martin is 9-7 with a 4.05 ERA and 115 strikeouts.

The combination of Griffin's excellent first-inning track record and a relatively modest White Sox offense makes this one of my favorite early-game unders.

Tigers at Blue Jays — NRFI

Drew Anderson and Braydon Fisher give us one of the strongest first-inning pitching combinations on Tuesday's slate.

Anderson has a 91% career NRFI rate in the available first-inning sample while Fisher is at 90% for his career and has held opponents scoreless in the first in nine straight starts.

The broader team numbers are encouraging, too. The Detroit Tigers are 76-74 in NRFI games this season, while the Toronto Blue Jays are 76-75. The Blue Jays also own a 3.91 team ERA while Detroit's pitching staff has posted a 3.66 ERA.

Marlins at Diamondbacks — NRFI

This is another excellent pitching-driven spot.

Janson Junk has an 80% career NRFI rate and has been especially impressive lately, going 12 straight starts without allowing a first-inning run.

Michael Soroka is also at a strong 77% career NRFI rate and an 80% mark over his last 10.

I particularly like the recent first-inning form here. Both pitchers have been consistently avoiding early damage, and these offenses aren’t too scary, giving us two paths to a 0-0 first.
