Laviska Shenault Jr. was one of the 13 rookie receivers picked in the first two rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft. That, along with landing on the Jacksonville Jaguars, has made him the forgotten man in this year's class of receivers.
However, he has a real path to volume in 2020 and is a name to monitor in fantasy leagues, particularly in deeper formats.
Laviska Shenault Jr. Fantasy Football Outlook
Shenault is being overlooked in most fantasy leagues right now, as he's rostered in just 11 percent of Yahoo fantasy football leagues. He's a really interesting player to monitor at that range.
He's one of the most versatile receivers in his class. In 2018, Shenault racked up 86 receptions for 1,011 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns, adding another 115 yards and 5 touchdowns on 17 carries. Jacksonville is reportedly finding creative ways to get him the ball in camp, though beat reporters can't give specifics due to NFL restrictions.
However, we do know that has seemingly fallen out of favor, as he was listed with the third-team offense on Jacksonville's Week 1 depth chart. Although, there's a real chance Shenault serves as Gardner Minshew's No. 2 target behind DJ Chark.
Plus, with all the uncertainty at running back, Shenault could even handle some volume on the ground.
Shenault doesn't need to be picked up quite yet, though he's a really interesting name to monitor in the early going. He could be a really popular waiver wire target by this time next week.
