The first week of the 2021-22 NBA season is now over and that means it's time for fantasy managers to take a deeper look at their roster. Of course, it's never too early to start making some trades.

Here are the best buy-low, sell-high candidates to target in trades this week.

Fantasy Basketball Trade Targets

1. Buy: Harrison Barnes, SF/PF, Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings may be 1-2 to start the season, but that isn't due to the play of forward Harrison Barnes. Barnes has led the Kings in scoring in each of the first three games and is averaging a healthy 28.3 points per game. More importantly, he is shooting an efficient 50.0% from the field so far. The 10th-year pro is locked in to seeing 36 minutes a game and is playing a crucial role on the offensive end of the court. While some managers may see this as an opportunity to sell high on the veteran, there is no reason to think Barnes cannot keep up this kind of production while he's sporting a 25.6% usage rate. Grab him before his price-tag gets too high.

2. Sell: Ricky Rubio, PG, Cleveland Cavaliers

Don't get it twisted, veteran Ricky Rubio has been balling out during the first three games of the season. He is averaging 16.7 points to go along with 9.3 assists per game. This is the perfect time to sell high, though. It won't be long before Cavaliers' guard Darius Garland returns to the lineup and cuts into Rubio's minutes on the floor. Garland is recovering from an ankle injury and dished out 12 assists in his only game played this season. Rubio will be working with the second team for most of this season and that doesn't give the 31-year-old much upside in fantasy basketball. He has seemingly already hit his ceiling, which means it would be smart to trade him for value while you still can.

3. Buy: Scottie Barnes, SF/PF, Toronto Raptors

It's always hard to trust rookies in fantasy basketball. However, forward Scottie Barnes has looked the part so far in the 2021-22 season. The former Florida State standout is averaging a double-double through the first three games (18.0 points & 10.0 rebounds) and has been a presence in the post. He also works as the primary ball-handler on this Toronto squad and constantly gives his teammates opportunities for open shots. Barnes' assists numbers should see a boost as the season goes on and he should get to the line more often given he adjusts to an NBA level of play. The upside that comes with trading for Barnes is well worth it right now.
