NFL schedules for the 2022 season were officially released on Thursday night and the Detroit Lions were left off the entire primetime schedule for the second time in three years. It doesn't seem to bother Dan Campbell, though, as he responded in an epic way during his latest press conference.

The head coach told reporters "it's awesome" to see so many early kickoffs on the schedule. He also mentioned that teams can get flexed into primetime games at any moment in Week 5 through Week 15 of the season. Campbell's certainly not ruling out that possibility with the roster set in front of him. His response starts at the 15:20 mark on the above video.

"Oh it's awesome. 1 o'clock games. It's awesome. You knock them out, you go home, you get ready for the next opponent. You’re not waiting all day in the hotel, all night, and then you go up and now you’re on a short week it feels like, so I got no problem."

The Lions are the only team in the NFL without a single primetime game in 2022. Both the New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars received one as they go head-to-head on Thursday Night Football in Week 16. A total of 13 teams in the league were gifted the maximum of five primetime games.

It's worth noting that Detroit does have one contest that will be televised to a national audience. That will be their yearly Thanksgiving game, which is slated to be against the Buffalo Bills on November 24. 14 of their 17 games are set to be 1 p.m. ET kickoffs with their Week 18 battle yet to have a start time.

The fact that the Lions have finished at the bottom of the NFC North division in each of the last four years doesn't exactly build a great case to be on primetime. Campbell is hoping he can turn things around for a team that has +10000 odds to win Super Bowl 57, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
