MLB Picks and Predictions for Today

Logan Henderson Over 17.5 Outs Recorded (-114)

Logan Henderson Outs Recorded

Logan Henderson Over 17.5

Logan Henderson has emerged as a top-notch starter, and he has a nice matchup today versus the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Pittsburgh’s offense has been much improved overall this year. With that said, they’re struggling of late, ranking only 27th in wOBA over the last 30 days (.295).

Henderson can take advantage.

The Milwaukee Brewers‘ RHP has generated a 3.05 SIERA and 30.2% K rate this season. He’s completed at least six frames in six of his past seven starts, posting a 2.53 expected ERA in that span. He’s tossed at least 91 pitches in six of those appearances.

In great form and taking on a Pittsburgh team struggling for offense, Henderson can go over 17.5 outs tonight.

Red Sox-Rangers NRFI (-142)

Red Sox at Rangers, 8:05 p.m. ET

Jake Bennett and MacKenzie Gore are slated to square off at Globe Life Field, and this is another pitching matchup I like backing for a scoreless opening inning.

Bennett has been a solid piece of the Boston Red Sox rotation, entering Wednesday with a 3.69 ERA. Gore's full-season results haven't been as impressive, but the left-hander still has plenty of bat-missing ability, recording 172 strikeouts this season for the Texas Rangers.

There's also a favorable park element here. Globe Life Field is a pitcher-friendly park, which is useful when we're asking only for six outs without a run crossing the plate.

Neither offense is one I want to underestimate. Still, the combination of Bennett, Gore and the venue makes Red Sox-Rangers an appealing NRFI bet.

Randy Arozarena to Record 2+ H/R/RBI (-130)

Mariners at Angels, 9:39 p.m. ET

Player To Record 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs
Randy Arozarena

Randy Arozarena has been huge this season for the Seattle Mariners, and he’ll have the platoon advantage tonight versus Yusei Kikuchi.

Arozarena has put up a .373 wOBA this year, the best full-season clip of his career. He’s been especially lethal away from pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park, amassing a .402 wOBA on the road. He’s also been a monster versus LHPs as he owns a .402 wOBA in that split, as well.

Kikuchi is having a fine campaign, pitching to a 4.26 SIERA. But he’s allowed 1.34 homers per nine to righty bats and has a 5.03 expected ERA in four starts since coming off the IL.

Arozarena has notched at least two H/R/RBI in seven of his past eight games, and I like these odds on him to do it today on the road against a left-hander.

MLB Betting Frequently Asked Questions

What are MLB player prop bets?

MLB player prop bets are wagers on specific statistical outcomes tied to individual players during a game — not on which team wins or loses. You might bet on how many strikeouts a starting pitcher records, whether a shortstop gets a hit, or how many total bases an outfielder accumulates.

Because they are isolated to a single player's performance, props let you apply focused knowledge about matchups, recent form, and ballpark conditions rather than predicting the full game result.

What types of MLB player props are available?

FanDuel offers a wide menu of MLB props. The most common categories include:

  • Pitcher strikeouts
  • Batter hits
  • Home runs
  • Total bases
  • RBIs
  • Stolen bases
  • Pitcher outs recorded

What does +310 mean on an MLB home run prop bet?

A +310 line means a $100 bet returns $310 in profit if the player homers. You can bet any amount — a $10 bet at +310 returns $31 in profit. The number reflects the implied probability the sportsbook assigns to the event (roughly 24% for +310 odds).

What does "total bases" mean as a prop bet?

The total bases prop counts the bases a batter earns from hits in a single game:

  • Single = 1 base
  • Double = 2 bases
  • Triple = 3 bases
  • Home run = 4 bases

Walks, hit-by-pitches, and stolen bases do not count. A typical total bases line is set at 1.5 or 2.5. Betting over 1.5 means you need at least a double, or two singles.
