Ahead of a pivotal Week 7 contest against the San Francisco 49ers, the Indianapolis Colts received some terrible injury news. Promising second-year safety Justin Blackmon suffered a torn Achilles at Wednesday's practice and is now finished for the season.

Julian Blackmon Injury Update

This continues a recent bad stretch of injury news for the sophomore defender. Blackmon tore his ACL during his final collegiate game with the Utah Utes, causing him to fall to the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The former Utah Ute immediately was thrust into Indianapolis' starting lineup during his rookie campaign, managing 14 starts in 15 games. In 2020, Blackmon has started all 6 games and ranks fourth on the team with 34 combined tackles.

Blackmon also racked up 1 pass defended, 1 forced fumble, and 2 tackles for loss thus far this season.

Indianapolis looks to improve to 3-4 on the year in Week 7, a matchup that shows them as 4.5-point underdogs against the 49ers on FanDuel Sportsbook.
