Los Angeles Rams rookie running back left his team's Week 2 game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a ribs injury. He's been listed as questionable to return.
If Akers misses any time, Malcolm Brown's fantasy outlook would get a huge boost.
Malcolm Brown Fantasy Outlook
Brown has been really solid as the Rams' feature back thus far, turning 18 caries for 79 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns in Week 1. He added another 31 yards on 3 catches through the air.
Akers, meanwhile, turned 15 opportunities (14 carries plus 1 target) into 43 yards from scrimmage. If Akers is looking at an extended absence most of that volume would be given to Brown, though Darrell Henderson could factor in as well.
This will be a situation to monitor closely, but it could be huge for Brown's fantasy football outlook.
