Fewer teams have been more disappointing than the Cleveland Browns this season. After going 11-5 and making the Divisional Round last year, Cleveland is 6-6 ahead of Week 13 and showing no signs of improvement.
The Browns' struggles are reflected in ESPN's latest NFL power rankings. After being ranked at No. 15 last week, they've fallen to 17 ahead of their bye.
Browns Power Ranking
The Pittsburgh Steelers (No. 19) are the only AFC North team ranking worse than the Browns, with the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals coming in at No. 4 and No. 9, respectively.
It doesn't help that fourth-year quarterback Baker Mayfield has been playing with a myriad of injuries all season long. His 219.4 passing yards per game are the fewest of his career and his 11 passing touchdowns so far put him on pace for 16, which would also be his worst mark.
Cleveland's defense has had flashes of brilliance at times. However, its average of 23.7 points allowed over the last three games ranks 10th-worst in the NFL. If the team wants to turn its season around before it's too late, both the offense and defense need to step up.
With only a few weeks left in the 2021 season, FanDuel Sportsbook is projecting the Browns to miss the playoffs (-370) for the 18th time in 19 years.
