It's been 11 years since the Chicago Bears have made it beyond the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs, but they're hoping that changes in 2021. One player who'll be a part of any success this year is sixth-year defensive tackle Eddie Goldman. However, the 27-year-old veteran hasn't practiced in over a week after landing on the COVID-19 list back on August 3.

Fortunately, the Bears received some positive news on Friday as they activated Goldman from the COVID-19 list.

Eddie Goldman Injury Update

Goldman opted out of the 2020 NFL season as a precaution due to the COVID-10 pandemic. Without him anchoring the lineup, Chicago surrendered 23.0 points per game. While that was the 11th-best average in the league, it's a considerable step down from the 18.6 points per game (4th) that was allowed in 2019.

A second-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Goldman registered 29 total tackles, two quarterback hits and a sack the last time fans saw him on the field in 2019. Goldman also received a 70.7 overall grade on Pro Football Focus, which further proves his role as a quality piece in the Bears defense.

There's no word on whether or not Goldman will play in his team's preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday. The Bears coaching staff may want to see him practice a bit more to get back into game shape after being sidelined for the past 10 days. Regardless, Chicago is favored to beat Miami at -180 odds, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
