AL MVP Odds: Shohei Ohtani Emerges as Favorite After Mike Trout Injury on FanDuel Sportsbook

The American League MVP race was heating up between Los Angeles Angels teammates Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani this past month. But, Trout (+1000) just went down with a calf injury that is expected to have him sidelined for 6-8 weeks. With the injury coming into play a huge factor, Ohtani (+125) has taken the leading odds for the AL MVP.
Ohtani has been brilliant and captivating this year thanks to his unique two-way abilities. He's putting up a cool .271/.323/.632 hitting line while he .632 slugging percentage leads the AL. Add in his MLB-leading 14 home runs, 33 RBIs, and incredible 2.10 ERA in five starts. It's no wonder Ohtani is running away with the award right now.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. also took a big jump in this award race thanks to the Trout injury. The Toronto Blue Jays 1B/3B/DH sees his odds now at +700. Just last week, these odds sat at +1000. But, Guerrero Jr.'s hitting .329 with 11 home runs and 30 RBIs, and he's looking to keep the pressure on Ohtani.
